Kakav Visual Studio 2008? Izlazi Orcas, sto ce biti prva liga, a mozes vec danas da skines beta verziju. Sve je .NET 3.5, CLR je isti 2.0, i to je uglavnom to. Inace isao sam u MIkrosoft na prezentaciju za Orcas i jedina stvar koja me je stvarno obradovala i sto sam vidio da je bitna promjena je nacin na koji se pristupa bazi podataka i opcija u novom .net 3.5 (LINQ)

Ako ne znas sta je pogledaj na microsoftovom sajtu malko vise o tome. Mnogo dobra stvar, koja ce omoguciti da se bez obzira na koju bazu podataka povezes imas jedinstveni nacin da radis queries, i da sve pises u kodu umjesto procedura itd itd... Neko to ne voli, ali meni je to bas super :)

In an interview with Channel 9, Jason Zander, general manager of the .NET Framework team at Microsoft, discussed version 3.5 of the framework. This version will include a new compiler that will support new features such as Language Integrated Query (LINQ), as well as new language features in C# and VB.NET. This version of the framework, containing version 3.0 of the CLR (as opposed to CLR 2.0 in .NET Framework 3.0), will be included in Visual Studio 2008.

Visual Studio 2008 is focused on development of Windows Vista, 2007 Office system, and Web applications. Among other things, it brings a new language feature, LINQ, new versions of C# and Visual Basic languages, a Windows Presentation Foundation visual designer, and improvements to the .NET Framework. It will also likely feature a new HTML/CSS editor influenced by Microsoft Expression Web. J# will not be included. Visual Studio 2008 requires .NET Framework 3.5 and by default configures compiled assemblies to run on .NET Framework 3.5; but it also supports multi-targeting which lets the developers choose which version of the .NET Common Language Runtime (out of 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, Silverlight CoreCLR or .NET Compact Framework runtimes) the assembly will run on.

Visual Studio 2008 will feature a XAML based designer (codenamed Cider), workflow designer, LINQ to SQL designer (for defining the type mappings and object encapsulation for SQL data), XSLT debugger, XSD designer, JavaScript Intellisense support, JavaScript Debugging support, support for UAC manifests, a concurrent build system, among others. It will also ship with an enhanced set of UI widgets, both for WinForms and WPF.

Da li će opet biti besplatnih verzija, kao što ih ima za Visual Studio 2005?

Ja sam cuo da izlazi Visual Studio Vista (isti naziv kao i novi windowsi), a ne Visual Studio 2008. Mislim da ce trebati neko vrijeme pricekati da se to istestira jer kad nesto tek izadje iz MS-a, onda je to puno bugova. Ja sam presao na VS 2005 sredinom 2006. godine, dakle, 1-1,5 g. nakon izlaska finalne verzije. Dok se ne pojavi barem SP1 ne isplati se ici na tu verziju, barem ne komercijalno.

Zar VS2008 i Orcas nije isto?

Pa to sam i rekao nema VS 2008, zove se ORCAS, i mozete ako imate brzu konekciju da skinete BETA verziju danas sa mikrosoftovog sajta kako studija, tako i SQL 2008 kako li se vec zove, ako ne mozete naci linkove javite i ja cu vam proslijediti.
