HP has offcially confirmed that there are some problems with a bunch of battery series from a bunch of laptop
series. Many users have reported that their HP laptop batteries are overheating and some of the batteries even caught fire. It is clear now that there is a manufacturing problem, and you should check the list below in order to make sure that your HP laptop is safe. Please note that you can return the battery to HP, and the company will give you a new replacement free of charge.

Here is the list of affected notebooks:

HP: G6000, and G7000.

HP Pavilion series: dv2000, dv 2500, dv 2700, dv6000, dv 6500, dv 6700, dv 9000, dv 9500, and dv9700.

HP Compaq: 6720s.

Compaq Presario: A900, C700, F700, V3000, V3500, V3700, V6000, V6500, and V6700.

Is your laptop on the list with HP battery problems? If so then hurry up and get a replacement one. HP recommends that you immediately remove the battery from the notebook just to be safe. The HP battery recall consists of about 70,000 batteries and this is a big number therefore you should really be careful and just replace it as it’s free.
