fenixvps.com hosting review

It's my one year anniversary of using fenixvps.com as a hosting company.

For many years earlier, I had a server at a company in Dallas. It was a good company, good server, but I had had it for years. I was stuck with old apache, old php, old control panel, scared to update because so many people had reported so many problems with upgrades of the program combos I was using. Plus I needed more memory and cpu ommph. I could purchase another full server and transfer things over while paying full price for both, but I kept thinking there most be a better way that would give me more flexiblity.

Then I happened across fenixvps.com and their servers. I investigated and found I could buy one 'node' (a small part of the could)for $6 and put a virtual server on it. Get it all set up the way I wanted. Then transfer my sites over and ramp it up by adding more nodes.

Each node is the equivalent of 1024MB memory and 0.6GHz dedicated cpu. This provides for a great deal of flexibility, something I just didn't have with a physical server. Since then, and for less than $64/month, I've ramped up to 3.6GHz cpu with 4096MB of ram.

I've been very happy with my decision to go with fenixvps.com. The ability to ramp resources up or down as needed is great.
