For our client, one of the leading online travel information and booking portals located in Munich, Germany, we are searching for highly motivated candidates for the following position:



SOFTWARE ENGINEER (ElasticSearch)


Tasks:

Expert for Elasticsearch, you “multilingually” participate in the sophisticated software development process
Optimise the search functionality based on ElasticSearch and written in Scala
Draft and implement core components and RESTful APIs
As co-owner of the search infrastructure, you keep a minimal set of documentation up to date
Thanks to your know-how, the product owners’ user stories are bulging with business value
Concerning search features, continuous deployment is always on your mind
Meticulously, you scan the market for new techs: if you like them, you’ll let your colleagues get to know them


Positions requirements:

University degree in Computer Science or related field
Expert for search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr, Autonomy, FactFinder, FAST and the like
Your area of expertise here: linguistic processing methods and algorithms or geospatial search
A fine mixture of Java and Scala, but as a genuine software craftsperson, you know several additional programming languages
Comfortable in web APIs (REST, JSON)
Experience with Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch
In DB-Techs (like MySQL, NoSQL or MongoDB) you’re well versed
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Experience with Scrum and TDD, continuous deployment (CI/CD)
Fluency in English
