| pokusao sam nesto ovako, moguce je da sam izostavio neki korak, pa bih da upitam za pomoc.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda2 bs=1024 count=262144
mkswap /dev/hda2 262144
sync
swapon -a
i onda swapon -s vraca:
Filename Type Size Used Priority
/dev/hda2 partition 262136 0 -3
i kako pokusavan iznova Priority sve vise ide u minus. Inace, distribucija je Slackware 10

Pa sve je ok - ako ti je to jedini swap prostor, priority ti nije ni bitan. Ako ti treba rucno setovanje prioriteta, swapon ima -p i jos neke parametre pa probaj sa time.

Specify priority for swapon. This option is only available if swapon was compiled under and is used under a 1.3.2 or later kernel. priority is a value between 0 and 32767.
dobro ako ti tako kazes, verujem... mada ovo ogranicenje 0-32767 mi ipak ne da mira..

Mislim da je taj priority slican onom niceness-u procesa - ako svi imaju isti priority ili ako je samo jedan proces (tj. u ovom slucaju swap prostor) u pitanju, onda priority i nema nikakvog uticaja. Moze da bude i low priority prostor ali ako je jedini - samo njega ce i koristiti.

Onda je, kao što se može skučiti iz napisanog u manu, irelevantno koji je priority pošto nema sa čim da se uporedi da li je veći ili manji... Jedino treba malo voditi računa ako se doda još jedan swap ...

u svakom slucaju, najbolje bi bilo da to pise u man-u i razbije sve sumnje...
